Nicki & Dmytro / Wedding

Nicki & Dmytro were married in a sweet little ceremony at a hillside lookout over the picturesque valley of Minnedosa, Manitoba. On a clear and warm afternoon in August, family and friends gathered and warmly greeted each other, eagerly awaiting the arrival of the wedding party and ready to begin.

After the ceremony, everyone met at the new couple’s home to celebrate. Wedding korovai was served to the couple by their parents, not only a luscious pastry but also a ritual bread with great symbolic meaning. Korovai is used to bless a new family life and is highly respected all over Ukraine.

In a lovely reception under a gently lit canopy, the evening meal was served. Hearty fare, homemade and absolutely delicious, this was one wedding we were very glad to have been invited to stay for the food!
